Schools Make the Grade

Connecticut recently passed a bill mandating green cleaning in its public schools.  According to the new legislation, a "green cleaning program" consists of the procurement of environmentally preferable cleaning products for use in school buildings and facilities and the utilization of best cleaning management practices. The U.S. executive order 13101 states that "environmentally preferable products or services have a lesser or reduced effect on human health and the environment when compared to competing products and services that serve the same purpose".
